I've been invited by the BBC to go on Radio to ask questions
Posted by Biatch @ Mon Oct 06, 2008 1:48 pm
to Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook.
Shall I and what shall I ask???
My idea was to get questions from you guys that you'd like me to ask, then I could tell Jim that I asked members of Chatterz, may get a mention for us then.
The email below
Hey Claire,
so this is a bit random, but I'm the technology reporter on Newsbeat at BBC Radio 1. The reason I'm writing is because you joined in an online debate about the new-look Facebook on the BBC website the other day.
This Friday Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook is in London. We're hoping to get him to answer listeners' questions.
I'm keen to get three or four people to go to their local radio studio this week and record some questions in advance with me - obviously not live. Then I'll use those questions in a radio and online report mixed with Mark's answers.
So wondered, seeing as you are interested in the subject, if you might have something to ask?
You could ask anything - from what he wants to do with his personal wealth to something about the redesign or the future of Facebook.
If this is something you fancy getting involved in (will only take ten minutes, promise) then either give me a call on the details below or send me your number and we'll have a quick chat.
Yours,
Jim

Dumb Ram on A55.

North Wales Police use taser on sheep on A55
Oct 4 2008 by Carl Butler, Daily Post
THE RSPCA is investigating why North Wales Police used a Taser gun on a sheep which strayed onto the A55.
The loose ram had wandered onto the main dual carriageway at St Asaph, causing major disruption to motorists as they tried to avoid it.
Police stunned the animal and dragged it to the side, where it made a full recovery later.
But some motorists said using a high voltage Taser gun on the animal was excessive.
The RSPCA said: “This incident has been reported to us and we do take it seriously and we are concerned about it.
“One of our inspectors will look into it and try and find out what the circumstances were and what the rules and guidelines are for the use of a Taser gun.
“If the traffic had stopped you would have thought it could perhaps have been rounded up and moved to the side of the road, but we don’t know whether it was considered to be causing a danger.”
A spokeswoman for North Wales Police said: “Shortly after 2.30pm on Wednesday North Wales Police received numerous calls reporting a loose ram crossing over both carriageways of the A55 at St Asaph causing major disruption and possible danger to motorists.
“Officers attended, and to ensure the safety of the motorists a decision was made to utilise the Taser.
“This was successfully done and the ram was then returned to it’s owner uninjured. The ram later returned to the farmer’s field.”
Kate Fowler-Reeves, head of campaigns at Animal Aid, said: “This animal, already a victim of an oppressive farming industry, was treated like a violent criminal.
“He deserved instead to be treated with some sensitivity and respect, even if to do so would have been less convenient for the authorities.”
One motorist who witnessed the Taser incident said it upset his 13-year-old daughter, and he felt the animal could have been directed away from the road without using force.
LAST November questions were asked when police marksmen were brought in to deal with a young bullock which escaped from Mold market and started to run through the streets.
Even though the animal had been guided into a field, a decision was taken for the marksmen to shoot the animal because it was deemed to pose a danger to the public.
The animal was shot, but one of the police bullets ricocheted and went crashing through the window of a security company’s offices opposite the field on Denbigh Road, Mold. No-one was hurt in the incident.
I live by the A55
But not that end.
